Overjoy with Sokratis, frustration for Sebastian Boenisch. In the final game day of Group A, Werder defender Sokratis and his Greeks beat Russia 1-0 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Euro 2012. After missing the previous game for a yellow-red suspension, the Werder defender was back in the starting line-up against Russia.
Boenisch was also in the starting line-up but his Polish team lost to the Czech Republic 1-0 and were thus eliminated from the tournament with two points from three games. The Czechs and Greeks move into the quarters which means a bitter moment for Euro co-hosts Poland.
