Claudio Pizarro will miss the up-coming games against Borussia Dortmund and Augsburg as the striker was suspended for two matches on Wednesday by the German Football Federation sports court following his incorrect behaviour against Hannover's Emanuel Pogatetz. Werder Bremen will accept the penalty.

Pizarro struck Pogatetz in the face with his hand in the 49th minute though he said he acted unintentionally and that he had been pushed beforehand. The suspension of the Peruvian, who is Werder's top scorer with 16 goals, hits Bremen hard as striker Marko Arnautovic is out for a number of weeks with a knee injury.
