Defender Mateo Pavlovic is leaving SV Werder with immediate effect and is transferring on a loan to Hungarian top flight side Ferencvaros Budapest. Werder manager Thomas Eichin confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the 23-year-old signed a contract with the team until 30 June 2014.

"We agreed with Mateo that it's important for him to gain match practice at the highest possible level. We hope that he can continue to develop in Budapest under coach Thomas Doll," said Eichin about the move of the Croatian, who has a contract with Werder until 30 June 2016.

Pavlovic transferred to Bremen in January 2013 from NK Zagreb. The center back played in four Bundesliga matches over this time for the Green-Whites. This season, Pavlovic has only played for Werder's U23 team in the Regionalliga Nord.
