The bus has left for Braunschweig. The Werder group left Bremen at 5:22 p.m. after a 60-minute final training heading towards Eintracht Stadium for the first Bundesliga match of the 2013-14 season.
It will be a very special trip for head coach Robin Dutt. "I haven't been in the Bundesliga for more than a year. Tomorrow, it's back. I hope that Braunschweig fans are really loud just like our Bremen supporters. I assume that it will be a really good atmosphere. I am really happy about it," said the coach.
Dutt will also be relieved that the match Saturday evening 6:30 p.m. means the end of the intensive training weeks. "All the headlines and talking will mean nothing. Tomorrow, there will be a new sad face and a smiling face and new headlines.
Everyone can report on cold hard facts tomorrow. Of course we are hoping for a successful start," said Dutt, who also didn't let anyone know his hand after the final training session. "The starting line-up falls under competitive secrecy," said the coach, clearly unwilling to reveal the secret until Saturday.
