SV Werder and Werder team doctor Götz Dimanski are going their separate ways as the sides mutually decided to end their relationship in regards to the medical support of the Bundesliga team. SV Werder Bremen would like to thank Dr. Götz Dimanski for the successful medical support, which played a big part in the club's success during his 23 years of work. Dr. Dimanski served as Werder's leading team doctor since July 1999.
Dr. Dimanski will increase his attention on his duties as managing director of the RehaZentrum Bremen, a subsidiary of the Links der Weser clinic, on which Werder Bremen is 49 percent owner. He is also the head physician of the sports medical department and runs his own practice focusing on locomotor systems.
The medical team of Dr. Philip Heitmann and Dr. Dominik Schwarz will take over the medical support of the Bundesliga roster, the U23 team and the youth sides of the performance academy. Dr. Heitmann is a self-employed specialist for general and trauma surgery in Bremen and specialises as a doctor for sports medicine. Dr. Schwarz is a specialist for orthopaedics and trauma surgery and works at the Lilienthal clinic.
SV Werder Bremen have worked with the two doctors for the past 10 years in the performance academy and will extend their cooperation to the professional team.
