There were 20 players at Friday's final training but one familiar face was missing as Naldo had to sit out with back problems. "Naldo will come with us to Wolfsburg. Whether he can play we will see tomorrow," said head coach Thomas Schaaf. The Green-Whites boss meanwhile will have three starters available once again. "The suspensions of Clemens Fritz, Sokratis and Sebastian Boenisch are over with. We can rely on them again in Wolfsburg," said Schaaf. "Of course we are happy that the players are back."
Besides Sokratis, Fritz and Boenisch, Florian Hartherz also returned to the team after a shoulder injury. But Philipp Bargfrede and Aleksandar Ignjovski will not be available to Schaaf. "We had hoped that Philipp and ‘Iggy' would be fit in time. But that is unfortunately not the case," said the coach.
Because Naldo is still questionable, Schaaf named 19 players who will travel to Wolfsburg from whom 18 will be named: Wiese, Mielitz, Arnautovic, Boenisch, Schmitz, Hartherz, Hunt, Füllkrug, Prödl, Pizarro, Junuzovic, Rosenberg, Fritz, Trybull, Aleksandar Stevanovic, Sokratis, Trinks, Naldo (?), Affolter.
