Ronaldo Aparecido Rodrigues, better known as Naldo, appeared in 173 Bundesliga matches for SV Werder, experiencing many of his greatest moments as a footballer with Bremen. He went to the Champions League five seasons in a row with Werder, won the 2009 German DFB Cup in 2009 and also went to the UEFA Cup final in the same year. On Tuesday, he returns to the Weser with his current club, VfL Wolfsburg. The centre back took 90 seconds for a quick interview with WERDER.DE.
Naldo, everything seems possible this season behind the dominating Bayern Munich side. Are you dreaming about reaching the Champions League with Wolfsburg?
Naldo: "A little bit. You're allowed to dream. I played in the Champions League five years with Werder and would also like to do that with VfL."
Is the match against Werder still something special for you?
Naldo: "Yeah, I am looking forward to the match and hope that we can pick up three points in Bremen like we did last year. I am crossing my fingers that Werder can get out of their difficult situation. The support of the fans is very important for that."
With whom from Werder do you still have contact?
Naldo: "With Aaron Hunt, Clemens Fritz and Eljero Elia - and also with the physios. Besides, we also have a lot of friends in Bremen."
Where will you be and how will you be following the World Cup in Brazil this summer?
Naldo: "Hopefully as a player with the Selecao". (Laughs)
How much do you miss Diego after his transfer to Atletico Madrid?
Naldo: "We talk about every two weeks. We played together in Bremen and in Wolfsburg and are really good friends."
Who is the coolest ‘Wolf' at VfL?
Naldo: "I think it's me. At least everyone is always asking me where I get my cool clothes ..." (laughs)
