Werder's defensive ace Naldo has started his rehab measures since his return to Bremen from Brazil. In January, the 28-year-old left for Caxias do Sul on his own wishes to be operated on his right knee. "The knee has developed well since the operation," said Naldo on Wednesday. According to the prognosis of the treating physician Dr. Carlos Bergamaschi, Naldo should return to the pitch in no later than six months. "We wish that the healing process continues as Naldo hopes and the Brazilian doctors expect," said manager Klaus Allofs.
Naldo is being treated individually in Bremen by a Brazilian physiotherapist. "Matheus Cardoso is a friend of mine. He helps me in close coordination with the doctor's team in Brazil. I am convinced of this way," said the defender. At the moment Naldo is working on recovering lost muscle mass. "Naldo is receiving every form of support from us. We all at Werder want nothing more than to see him on the ball as soon as possible," added Allofs.
