From a championship-like reception to a glamorous party to an emotional farewell of the round Brazilian - Ailton's farewell match was a fantastic festival. One could already sense the special atmosphere at Weser Stadium with the arrival of the players. Ailton couldn't have imagined a better farewell. The Brazilian was of course the leading scorer of the match with four goals.

Line-ups and formation: Regardless if it was Tim Wiese, Johan Micoud or in the end Ailton, the Weser Stadium crowd gave a great cheer for each of the players when they entered the pitch. Ailton played the first half with the high-class collection of South Americans, who were taking on the double-winning team from 2003-04.

Too many guys, lots of goals and an early whistle

12th Min: Not Ailton? No, Paulo Sergio gives the South Americans the lead. Keeper Andreas Reinke didn't have a chance in front of the packed East Curve.

16th Min: What a bunch of characters. The South Americans literally had a 12th man on the pitch.

24th Min: Just like before. Johan Micoud rips apart the entire defense with a pass to Ivan Klasnic and "Killer" didn't waste his chance and pushed home.

26th Min: Grass chess just like Werder from 2004.
Krisztian Lisztes feeds a back heel to Micoud and the Frenchman finishes to make it 2-1.

30th Min: Pekka Lagerblom adds on.
The Finn measures up and hammers home a blast for a 3-1 lead.

31st Min: Ailton missing a chance? Never. The rounded one takes advantage of his first chance to trim the deficit to 3-2. Of course he apologises to coach Thomas Schaaf for scoring.

39th Min: Number four scores the fourth goal for the Green-Whites.
Fabian Ernst scores.

40th Min: Referee Babak Rafati ends the first half prematurely. The South Americans likely thanked him looking at the scoreboard.

Ailton - doubles up

50th Min: Goosebumps in Weser Stadium! The double-winning team in the legendary parrot jerseys come onto the pitch together.

54th Min: Ailton is there and makes it 5-2. He shows some touch and beats Tim Wiese, sending the crowd crazy.

60th Min: Oh Vale! Ismael causes a penalty for the South Americans. And Paulo Sergio did not miss out on his chance.

62nd Min: What a surprise! Ivan Klasnic is taken out. Thomas Schaaf has a new talent from Brazil as Alexandra Ailton - Ailton's daughter - enters the pitch.

63rd+65th Min: Is it going to be tight? No! Barbarez adds a bit of suspense as the substitute scores but Alexandra Ailton pushes it to 6-4.

70th Min: That was easy. Borowski was more than close to being offside but has the ball one-on-one against Wiese and beats him with a lob.

74th Min: Through the legs. After one of his well-known sprints, Ailton only has Wiese to beat and he does - through the legs.

80th Min: An early whistle again? Yes. The match is over after 80 minutes. A teary farewell from the football stage started as the whole family rushed to the pitch
