Just like Felix Kroos, Florian Hartherz and Tom Trybull, Sebastian Mielitz also started early in his preparations for the up-coming season. After a week of holidays on Mallorca and then a relaxing stay at home with the family, the keeper started his training last week. "I took part in goalkeeper training with the U23s on Thursday and Friday. On Monday and Tuesday I did two sessions with Michael Kraft," said the Werder keeper, who will be wearing number one this season. Mielitz began training early to be well prepared for his first season as the potential top keeper. "It was important for me to have a change from the training schedule, to have a special goalkeeping training to prepare me for the next season," said "Miele". The keeper hopes for a successful 2012-13 season. "I have personally taken it upon myself to play as many games as possible and help the team, regardless where," said Mielitz. "As a team I hope we can have as much success as possible and good games to thrill our fans."
On this coming Thursday 5 July 2012 at 10 a.m., "Miele" and his teammates are starting the season preparations and he will then meet up with new Werder goalkeeper Raphael Wolf. But it will not be the first meeting of the two keepers. "I know Raphael from the times when he played with Hamburg's amateurs. Back then I played with Werder's amateurs against his team. We won 2-0," said Mielitz with a grin.
And the 22-year-old was looking forward to meeting his new teammate. "I am pretty excited. Raphael is now part of the team and we will integrate him into the team. There is always competition, in every part of the team. That is very important," said Mielitz.
