Marko Marin has suffered a setback as the 22-year-old Werder midfielder had hoped to return to team training this week. Marin was able to come back for the Wednesday morning session 14 September 2011 but had to leave training after 20 minutes. "The problems resurfaced. I have to go back to the doctor, then I will know more," said Marin on his way to the changing room about his recurring muscle problems. "He had the feeling yesterday that everything was okay again. But over the course of training it got worse again," said Werder coach Thomas Schaaf on Wednesday. He would not make a guess how long the Werder playmaker would miss.

But the Green-Whites have shown over the course of the season that they have some depth on the squad. "Mehmet Ekici is an issue for us. He is very motivated and absolutely integrated into the team. But he has just missed some game practice. The elements of game direction here in Bremen are a bit different. He still has to get used to them," said Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf about the former Nuremberg player, who is still an option for the game on Saturday against his former team.

Florian Hartherz meanwhile has fully recovered from his adductor problem and can return to team training. But since 18-year-old is still attending school, Hartherz could not practice on Wednesday. The youngster will work out with fitness coach Yann-Benjamin Kugel. "We still have to clear up how we can figure out school and training," said Hartherz.
