Head coach Robin Dutt was able to welcome back two returnees to the pitch Wednesday afternoon as Cedrick Makiadi and Özkan Yildirim completed the entire training with the team. Mehmet Ekici meanwhile missed the session with an injury.
"It feels good to be back on the pitch again. I am positive that I can play on the weekend," said Makiadi after the training. The midfielder was out with a thigh knock that he received at the end of last week, missing the start of the second half of the season against Eintracht Braunschweig.
Yildirim, who suffered a minor ankle injury against Braunschweig, is also confident that he can go into the up-coming game against Augsburg (Sat. 1 February 2014 at 3:30 p.m.) without any problems. "I still feel it a bit but I was able to train in full and believe that it will get better day by day," said Yildirim.
Ekici cannot say the same thing as the 23-year-old is still fighting with a foot injury from the training camp in Jerez. The Turkish international is not training with the team and it's unclear when he will return.
