New midfielder Ludovic Obraniak hadn't even been in training for one day and the team already brought him into their sworn circle. ‘Ludo' - as his teammates called him - showed straight away on Monday what he can do and how the team can profit from his left foot. Obraniak is a strong passer with a good eye for his teammates and the necessary calm when it gets hectic.

"We are happy that he is here with us now. Especially on offence, we are happy to have another alternative because we kept struggling with missing players. He is a good player who also has a good portion of experience. Just like all of us, he has a tough test in his first match on Saturday against Dortmund. He will be anxious to show what he can do - also in Germany. He can be a valuable acquisition for us," said Nils Petersen praising the 29-year-old.

Obraniak was accompanied to the training grounds by Cedrick Makiadi, with whom he can speak French. ‘Ludo' will not need a long time to get accustomed to the playing style from head coach Robin Dutt. In addition to numerous Werder fans on hand, manager Thomas Eichin was also at the training grounds to get an impression of Obraniak.

While the training session was officially over after an hour and a half, Obraniak remained on the grounds for another half an hour with Kobylanski, Di Santo, Elia and Caldirola to practice free kicks. Obraniak showed here as well that set pieces are also included in his specialities. After this special extra session, the Polish international was happy to have finally arrived in Bremen.

"It went perfectly. It's never easy to leave a good first impression. But I completed two sessions with the team today and am going step by step. Getting to know everybody went very well. We joked around, it was very nice. We are preparing for the next match. I hope the week goes as well as it did today," the new acquisition told WERDER.DE.
