Werder midfielder Felix Kroos had successful spleen surgery over the weekend in Bremen's Links der Weser clinic. The 21-year-old, who was on the game roster for the match against Bayern, felt uncomfortable Saturday morning at the team hotel and was examined by team doctor Götz Dimanski, who sent Kroos to hospital for further treatment.
"An operation on his spleen was necessary but Felix Kroos came through well. He is still in the clinic for further treatment," said Dimanski. Head coach Thomas Schaaf hopes the youngster gets well soon. "We all wish Felix a speedy recovery and that he can get around soon," said the coach. Kroos will not play any more this season.
