SV Werder Bremen and Felix Kroos will continue their relationship into the coming years as the midfielder and manager Thomas Eichin Tuesday afternoon signed on a new contract that runs until 30 June 2017.
"With the contract extension of Felix, we have once again secured a building block for the continued development of the team. He is an extremely important player in our ranks and has gone through a strong development. I am happy that we can plan with him in the coming years," said Eichin. Kroos was also happy about the continued collaboration. "I feel really good here and want to establish myself. For me personally, I see the best perspectives for the future with Werder. I am happy to remain a part of this great team. We have a great team spirit in the team and you can sense it every day that we all have the same goal," said Kroos.
The Greifswald native arrived along the Weser in the summer of 2010 from Hansa Rostock. In addition to 46 appearances in the third division, the Werder No. 18 played in 21 matches in the Regionalliga Nord. Kroos celebrated his Bundesliga debut on 28 November 2010 in the 3-0 win over St. Pauli. Since then, the midfielder has played in 31 top flight matches for SV Werder. Last season against Schalke, he celebrated his first Bundesliga goal.
