Zlatko Junuzovic may miss the remainder of the first half of the season as the Bremen midfielder is out a number of weeks with a foot injury, Werder head coach Robin Dutt confirmed Friday afternoon.
"After extensive examinations by our team doctor, we now know that Zlatko Junuzovic will unfortunately be out for a while longer. Zladdi is a very important player for us. We hope that his heeling goes well," said Dutt, who had hoped for a return in one or two weeks.
"It is a hairline fracture of the tarsal bone in his right foot. It happened when he was struck on the foot in the Schalke match and we were able to give a better diagnosis after an extensive exam here in Bremen," said Bremen team doctor Götz Dimanski.
"I have to take the pressure off the foot so I can only walk with crutches. Of course that's not good news for me as I cannot support the team at this time. Now I need to have patience," said the Austrian.
