Zlatko Junuzovic transferred from Austria Vienna to Werder Bremen not even four weeks ago. Since then Werder coach Thomas Schaaf has put the Austrian into the starting line-up three times. And Bremen's third Austrian along with Marko Arnautovic and Sebastian Prödl has not disappointed. In fact, the head coach has been impressed. "Zladdi is doing well. I am happy how he is playing since the transfer. He really wants to display his qualities. Zladdi is motivated and wants to show what he can do. It's really impressive what the youngster can do," said Schaaf at the official press conference on Thursday ahead of the Nuremberg home match about the 24-year-old Junuzovic.
"I am honoured by the coach's words. I am trying to motivate my teammates in a positive manner. I feel really welcome within the team. But I still need a couple more days to really arrive in Bremen. The level here is just much higher," said "Juno" after the afternoon session. Junuzovic has played 251 minutes in a Werder jersey, helping the team to five points in three matches including three points in the 3-1 derby win over Hamburg. "He just fits in well with us and I believe he is happy to be with us," said Schaaf. Werder manager Klaus Allofs also spoke positively about Junuzovic. "It was correct to bring him over during the winter break and not wait until summer. We need this excitement, passion and will to win. And he gives us all that," said Allofs.
