The plans for next season for SV Werder are in motion as Robin Dutt will have his training premiere for the Green-Whites on Friday 28 June 2013. Werder's new head coach will have his players go through a lactate test at 10 a.m. on the Platz 11 grounds. The Werder troops will head to their first summer training camp on Norderney three days later.

The test match during Werder's third training camp in Blankenhaim at Regionalliga side FC Carl-Zeiss Jena meanwhile has been cancelled. "The dates for our preparation for the 2013-14 season however will remain the same despite the coaching change. Robin Dutt however really values the training work at the beginning of his time with a new team. Therefore, we cancelled the first of the three organised test matches during the training camp in the Weimar region on 21 July. We hope FC Carl Zeiss and all the fans understand. We will gladly return to Jena for an appearance another time," said manager Thomas Eichin.

The Green-Whites will have two test matches near Weimar as they take on RB Leipzig on Friday 23 July 2013 in the Red Bull Arena and the third division side RW Erfurt on Sunday 25 July 2013 at Steigerwald Stadium. A kick-off time has not been set for either match.
