Werder keeper Tim Wiese was the discussion partner in the first round of press talks on Norderney. As usual, he sat relaxed in the easy chair and answered the media representatives' questions.
WERDER.DE was also on hand and wrote down the most interesting, most important and nicest answers by the German international.
Tim Wiese about ...
... the changes on Norderney compared to past years:
Actually nothing has changed compared to last year. Once again we have to wake up early, run 45 minutes on the beach in the morning and then two sessions.
... new acquisition Andreas Wolf:
Andreas is an experienced player who showed good performances over a long period in Nuremberg. I am certain that he will help us. But of course I hope also that the other defenders can return. Because when we have everyone together we will have plenty of competition within the team.
... Mehmet Ekici:
I am really astonished with the youngster. He is top fit, technically strong and really has made a good impression on me. We can all be happy that he is with us and I assume that he will continue to thrill us.
... outlook for the coming season:
I hope that it will be better than last season. We have a lot to make up. After all, we didn't play a single good half of the season. We were eliminated early in the German Cup and the Champions League. This season we have a chance to once again get something done in the German Cup and the Bundesliga. Maybe it's an advantage that we won't have the mid-week games that we have always had. We have a young, fresh team and we will see where our road leads.
