Julian Schieber is actually under contract with Stuttgart as the 22-year-old is on loan to Nuremberg for this season to take the next step in his career. And it's been a stroke of luck for the player and the club. "It's gone optimally for me," said the German U21 international, who was Nuremberg's leading scorer before his injury with seven goals and nine assists. WERDER.DE spoke with the striker before the Green-Whites game in Nuremberg.
Hello Julian Schieber, in your player profile on the team's home page you said your first football memory was you receiving a football in your Easter nest.
Yeah that's right. I was maybe four or five years old and I got a ball in my nest for Easter (laughs). That was my first football of my own, that's why I won't forget it any time soon.
In the first game this season against Bremen, Nuremberg won 3-2 and you set up all three goals. In a survey on fcn.de at the beginning of the week, 80 percent of the fans voted that Nuremberg would win on Saturday. What makes you so optimistic?
Yeah, our fans are in a good mood and believe in us. On Saturday there is another home match and we are generally stronger there. But I am reassured also by the fact that we have looked good this season against the big names. We just play well against them. In addition, we had a good start to the second half and you can see there is confidence in the team and the surroundings. Therefore I am convinced that we will win on the weekend.
