Until September 2009, Lucien Favre was head coach with Hertha Berlin. And since 14 February 2011, the former Swiss international and 2008/09 German Coach of the Year is back in the Bundesliga. Favre hopes to use his experience to help last-placed Borussia Mönchengladbach avoid relegation. The coach spoke with WERDER.DE before Saturday's game at Weser Stadium.

WERDER.DE: Mr. Favre, between your sacking in late September 2009 from Hertha Berlin and your hiring with Borussia Mönchengladbach, you had a football timeout. What did you do in that time and what were the reasons for the break?
Favre: "Before that I had been in the business 13 straight years so the longer break did me good. During that time I did some additional training, improved my language skills, and watched a lot of football in England, France, Italy and especially in Germany."

"A dream to work in the Bundesliga again "

WERDER.DE: What made you decide to come back to the Bundesliga with Borussia Mönchengladbach?
Favre: "It's a dream for me to be able to work in the Bundesliga again because along with the Spanish and English league, it's one of the best in the world. When I got the offer from Borussia Mönchengladbach, I didn't have to think too long. It is a fantastic club with loads of tradition - and a great sports challenge for me."

WERDER.DE: On the weekend in Weser Stadium, you will be facing the worst defence in the league - looking at the number of goals allowed. Do you expect a match with a lot of play in the area and a lot of goals?
Favre: "I don't think the statistics tell us anything about what to expect for the game. We know that we have to work a lot, and that includes our own defensive performance."

WERDER.DE: Werder were able to get a bit of confidence with the last-minute equaliser against Leverkusen and the three points in Freiburg. What do you expect from the Bremen team on Saturday?
Favre: "Regardless of how the game against us finishes, I am certain that Werder will not be relegated. For me, the game on Saturday is not a match against a contender in the relegation fight."
