No luck v Belgium

Werder players Marko Arnautovic, Florian Trinks and Lennart Thy had one thing in common Friday night - all three were facing Belgium with their national teams, and all three suffered losses.

Austria and Arnautovic suffered a 2-0 loss against Belgium in their Euro2012 qualifier in Vienna. The Werder striker played a full 90 minutes but could not keep his national team from losing.

Trinks U19 captain, but couldn't convert from spot

Werder youth talents Thy and Trinks meanwhile fell 2-1 against Belgium for the German U19 national team in their test match in Völklingen. With Germany leading 1-0, captain Trinks failed to convert from the penalty spot in the 28th minute.

The German U19 team plays their second friendly on Tuesday, 29 March at 5:30 p.m. against Ukraine in Homburg.
