Werder's international players will be returning to Bremen over the course of Wednesday and make their way back to Green-Whites training. One of players will likely be still full of excitement from the night before.

In Austria's 2-2 draw in Ireland, Zlatko Junuzovic had a full swing of emotions. The midfielder set up former Bremen player Martin Harnik to make it 1-0 for Austria in the 11th minute. Then Junuzovic had to be subbed out in the 26th minute with a laceration on his right knee. "Junu" won't know the seriousness of the injury until further examinations in Bremen. Teammate Marko Arnautovic played the whole match for Austria while Sebastian Prödl did not play.

Kevin De Bruyne and the Belgian national team meanwhile celebrated the next important win in Group A as the Red Devils beat Macedonia 1-0 in Brussels thanks to Eden Hazard's goal. De Bruyne played the full 90 minutes for Belgium.

Theodor Gebre Selassie also played the full match for the Czech Republic in their 3-0 away win against Armenia. Mateo Pavlovic did not appear in Croatia's 2-1 victory in Wales and Mehmet Ekici also remained on the bench for Turkey's 1-1 draw in Hungary.

Werder keeper Richard Strebinger on Monday stood between the posts in the Austrian U21 team's 4-0 loss in a friendly against England. But he only played 37 minutes after which he was shown the red card. The German U20 national team on Monday registered a 3-2 test match victory against Switzerland with Florian Hartherz playing the full match while Tom Trybull was subbed out after 67 minutes for Werder teammate Johannes Wurtz.
