It all started on 8 December. As part of the Werder fan club Christmas party, the Green-Whites' official Instagram channel was brought online. Six months have passed in which a lot of unique pictures of the SV Werder team have been posted. Whether it's from the training camp, just before kick-off coming out of the changing room or players on summer holiday - all Werder supporters can feel up close and personal thanks to Instagram.
More than 750 snapshots have been published within the half year on the photo and video sharing app. Both the hashtag #werder and the profile @werderbremen are spreading very quickly and gathering more and more followers. Even though there is already a strong fan community with more than 13,000 followers, the community is growing every day.
In addition to fans, many Werder players are also on Instagram. Whether it's Eljero Elia, Felix Kroos or Luca Caldirola, head coach Robin Dutt's players enjoy letting their supporters take part in their lives. A look at the statistics of the Werder profiles shows just how much the followers are enjoying the pictures. In addition to 570,000 Likes, there are more than 10,350 comments.
The #werdersaison picture of the season by hudaifaah, which won out over more than 300 other great images, contributed 1,220 Likes alone, helping Werder breeze past the half-million mark. If you want to see just how unique - and also bizarre - the past 181 days have been, look at the photo gallery on Werder's Instagram profile.
