Werder playmaker and deputy captain Aaron Hunt remains unable to train due to his calf injury as the 26-year-old sat out of Tuesday afternoon's training. "We cannot say anything new about Aaron. We must wait and see how his injury develops. We can possibly say more later in the week," said head coach Thomas Schaaf after the team training.
In addition to Hunt, Philipp Bargfrede is also dealing with an injury as the 23-year-old has been labouring with Achilles tendon inflammation for nearly a month. Schaaf also could not offer any news of improvement on Bargfrede on Tuesday. "We have to be patient. He had taken a step forward but now had to cut back his program since the injury flared up again," said Schaaf.
Also unable to get back to the pitch is reserve keeper Raphael Wolf, who continues to fight hip problems. It's also unclear when he can return.
