...that Piräus have only ever won one game against a German team? the Greeks have, until now, played six games against German opponents and won only one tie in the 2002/2003 season in the group phase of the Champions League, when they beat Bayer 04 Leverkusen 6:2. They were beaten in the other five matches.
...that Werder Bremen have only twice been faced with Greek opponents? In the Champions League group phase 2005/2006, Werder had to take on Piräus arch rivals, Panathinaikos Athens. In Bremen the Greeks were beaten 5:1.
...that Olympiakos have never won a game in Germany? All three games that Piräus have played on German soil have finished in defeat and the Greeks have so far failed to score in Germany.
...that Greek trainer Panagiotis Lemonis was involved in four of those games? In 1980/1981 Lemonis was on the bench in the European Cup against Bayern Munich. In the same competiton in the 1982/1983 season he played in both games against Hamburg SV losing 0:1 in Germany and 0:4 in Greece.
