Whilst the remains of Thomas Schaaf’s heftily reduced, thanks to international duty and injuries, squad took to the ‚Bürgerpark‘ in Bremen for a light jog on Wednesday morning, Torsten Frings (cruciate ligament damage) and Tim Borowski (outer-ligament strain) were hard at work at the Green-Whites training facility, preparing to return to full team training. Both parties were put through their paces by physio Stefan Wolters.
Things are going quite well with ‘Boro’ and Frings but we’ll have to see how things develop. Should their progress continue, they will be able to take the next step by next week”, explained Werder co-trainer Wolfgang Rolff who was filling in for Thomas Schaaf who is currently involved in the UEFA trainer forum in Nyon. Rolffs added: “That doesn’t mean they’ll be back in team training next week. There is no time frame established for that yet.”
Both Frings and Borowski also feel things are going well so far. Frings commented: “We could do with getting a sniff of the grass again.”
