...that before this Champions League qualifier, Werder had never played against a Croatian side? Werder won their home leg 2:1 at the Weser Stadium – the first meeting of the Green-Whites and a Croatian opponent.
...that Dinamo Zagreb have won every home game they’ve played this season? In the 1. HNL, Croatia’s top flight, Dinamo have take all 18 points from the six matches they’ve played and they also won the first two Champions League preliminary qualifiers against Khazar Lenkoran (3:1 AET) and NK Domzale (3:1) in Croatia.

FC Magdeburg, Bayern München, Eintracht Frankfurt, Schalke 04, Hamburger SV, VfB Stuttgart and Werder. German sides have come through eleven Champions League qualifiers and lost out only twice. In 2000 Leeds United progressed past 1860 Munich and in 2003 Borussia Dortmund were eliminated by FC Brugge.
...that Dinamo Zagreb coach Branko Ivankovic once trained Hanover 96 in the Bundesliga? Ivankovic was in charge of the 'Reds' from Hanover between July 1999 and February 2000 in the German second division. Following three successive defeats and a lack of sporting perspective the coach was given the sack.
