Werder To Play FC Everton

Following the coup of securing a friendly tie with FC Licverpool on Tuesday, 17.07.2007 in Grenchen, Switzerland (8:15pm), Werder have managed to seal another friendly for their 2007/2008 pre-season preparations.

Following the coup of securing a friendly tie with FC Licverpool on Tuesday, 17.07.2007 in Grenchen, Switzerland (8:15pm), Werder have managed to seal another friendly for their 2007/2008 pre-season preparations. On Tuesday, 31.07.2007 at 8pm (9pm CET), the Green-Whites will take on FC Everton at Goodison Park in Liverpool.

 

Everton are Liverpool’s second most popular club behind the ‘Reds’ from Anfield Road and their nearest and greatest rivals. The fact that Werder are due to play both clubs almost back-to-back will add an extra bite to the English-German clashes.

 

Everton finished the previous season in the English Premier League in sixth place and wit that qualified for the UEFA Cup. Their last real success was back in 1995 when they won the very esteemed FA Cup with their last championship win having been twenty years ago in 1987. Two of their top players in trainer David Moyes current squad are Nuno Valente and English international Phil Neville.

 

Werder’s summer plan:

 

Mon, 02.07.2007, 10am First training session of the new season followed by the trip to the trainings camp on Norderney.

 

Fri, 06.07.2007, 7pm Friendly game – Werder Bremen versus TuS Pewsum on Norderney, “Sportplatz an der Mühle”.

 

Sun, 08.07.2007, 4pm Friendly game – Werder Bremen versus an ‘Ostfriesland’ selection, in Loga (Leer).

 

Tue, 10.07.2007, 7:30pm Friendly game – VfL Oldenberg vs. Werder Bremen, Marschwegstadion, Oldenberg.

 

Thur, 12.07.2007 until Fri, 20.07.2007, second trainings camp in Bad Ragaz (Switzerland).

 

Sat, 21.07.2007, League Cup quarter final in Dusseldorf, LTU Arena.

 

Tuesday, 31.07.2007 Friendly match, FC Everton – Werder Bremen, Goodison Park, Liverpool.
