The discrepancies between Werder Bremen and their German international striker Miroslav Klose have been reconciled. On Tuesday, 24.04.2007, two days before Werder’s UEFA Cup semi-final clash against Espanyol in Barcelona, Klose met with representatives from FC Bayern Munich at a Hanover hotel. Klose explained at a meeting on Friday morning at the Weser Stadium with club managers Klaus Allofs and Manfred Müller: “The meeting with Bayern was just an exchange of information and not a contract negotiation. It took just 20 minutes but I understand that the timing was poor. I would like to apologise for that to Werder and all the fans. I should have told the trainer and manager about the meeting before hand.”
Klaus Allofs commented: “We accept his apology and at the same time we made it clear that during the extent of his contract, which runs until 30.06.2008, there will be no possibility of a transfare within Germany.”
