Werder Bremen are fired up and ready to go with just two days to go before their first leg showdown in the UEFA Cup semi final: "We're looking forward to the game and are highly motivated. Every player dreams about playing in such big games. We'll be doing everything we can to achieve our goals of taking both the UEFA Cup and the German title", announced the Green-Whites Brazilian playmaker Diego. Striker Miroslav Klose added: "It'll be a hot one. Barcelona have a number of good players within their ranks. They'll be just as fired up as we are." The stirker is not particularly worried though: "With a team as good as ours we have no need to hide away from anyone."
Christian Schulz has overcome his thigh injury in time to partake in the German clubs up-coming UEFA Cup semi final clash with Spain’s RCD Espanyol in Barcelona on Thursday evening. The defender, who has played 17 games for Werder Bremen during the current season and scored two goals, was able to complete a full training programme on Tuesday and came through with no discomfort.
