The demand for Werder tickets in the run in to the end of the season is no less than massive. On Monday morning, Werder Bremen registered their UEFA-Cup semi-final home clash with Espanyol Barcelona as being a sell-out. “All of the tickets which went into circulation at the weekend were snapped up within a matter of hours. For the fans who missed out on the opportunity to seal a ticket, there is still a chance to pick one up just prior to the game should the excess tickets allocated to the Spanish club and UEFA be returned”, explained ticket manager Jörg Fürst.
By some way of consolation for the fans who don't manage to get a ticket to be in the stadium for the game. German television channel Sat 1 will broadcast both legs of the semi-final (away on 26.04.2007, home leg 03.05.2007) live. The programme for both matches will begin at 8:15pm, with the kick-off time set at 8:45pm.
The news means that all of Werder Bremen's remaining home games in the 2006/2007 season are officially sold out. The ticket centre has been emptied off all entry cards for the games against Alemannia Aachen (20.04.2007), Espanyol Barcelona (03.05.2007) and Eintracht Frankfurt (12.05.2007).
The final game of the season in Wolfsburg is guaranteed to be a sell out too. The weitten applications for tickets has already quadrupled the number allocated: “We are no longer taking orders for tickets for that game”, concluded Fürst.
