Güle Güle Belek! Werder bid farewell to their winter training camp in Turkey on Monday afternoon. At 4pm, on a flight from Antalya with 'Sun Express', the Werder contingent took off and are due to touch down in Bremen at 7:50pm this evening.

To round off the training camp in Turkey, trainer Thomas Schaaf put together a mini-tournament with four teams. The internal competition winner was the side containing Kasper Jensen, Daniel Jensen, Pierre Wome, Per Mertesacker, Hugo Almeida und Jurica Vranjes. Petri Pasanen was back in the thick of things again having recovered from an ankle injury which had caused him to rest up on Sunday. Patrick Owomoyela, Kevin Artmann and Jerome Polenz were again forced to rest up and sit out the training session.

The beautiful weather and the Efes-Cup win will leave the Green-Whites with fond memories of their stay in Belek: "I tried to win that competition with Kaiserslautern too, it's really nice to have the trophy now", admitted Tim Wiese. The goalkeeper saw his time in Belek in a positive light: "The training camp was hard work but good. We are in good form but will have to continue to work hard when we return to Bremen. I'm looking forward to seeing my wife and daughter."
