Aaron Hunt is staying a Green-White. The midfielder come striker has signed a contract extension with Werder Bremen which should keep him on the Weser until 2010. General manager Klaus Allofs admitted: "The terms of the deal with Aaron were agreed months ago and in recent weeks we cleared the finer details."
Werder Bremen’s young striking talent Aaron Hunt has extended his contract at the UEFA Champions League participants for a further three years, keeping him in Bremen until 30.06.2010. The announcement was made by the club in a Monday press release. Klaus Allofs commented on the contract extension: “Aaron has once again proven his exceptional abilities on the pitch this season and is an essential element of our team. We are particularly proud that, once again, a young player from our own ranks has made his way through to become a full-time professional at the club.”
A satisfied Hunt
Hunt, who has been playing for Werder Bremen since 2001 was equally delighted about the contract extension and explained: “This is confirmation for me, that after a difficult season last season, with a long term injury, that I have worked well. The season is going very well for me and I hope that I can continue that now and add a few goals to my tally.”
Six goals for Bremen
The now 20 year old midfielder managed to make his way through the reserves into the first team and has played 13 games for Werder so far this season. Altogether hunt has worn the Bremen shirt in 30 Bundesliga matches, scoring six goals along the way.

…Aaron Hunt made the move from Goslar SC to the Werder Bremen performance centre in 2001. There he played his way through the youth teams and the Under 23’s into the Green-Whites first team. The youngster marked his name in the Werder history books when he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga against Borussia Moenchengladbach on 12.02.2005 (final score 2:0), becoming the youngest player ever to score for the club in the German national league at 18 years and 161 days.
After an injury, which took months to recover from last season, the striker bounced back this season and played his way into the starting eleven appearing 13 times, scoring five goals. The German Under 21 international has made 30 Bundesliga appearances and scored six goals in all.
