There was no better place to party on Monday evening than the ‘Bavarian Tent’ in the ‘Bremer-Freimarkt’. That was also the case for the Werder team who were at their traditional team evening during the so called ‘Fifth Season’ in Bremen.

There was no better place to party on Monday evening than the ‘Bavarian Tent’ in the ‘Bremer-Freimarkt’. That was also the case for the Werder team who were at their traditional team evening during the so called ‘Fifth Season’ in Bremen. As always the event was used to take the opportunity to present the new signings to the fans. The result was Clemens Fritz, Hugo Almeida and Pierre Womé taking to the stage and belting out their best versions of the Werder classics “Lebenslang Grün-Weiß” (A life time Green-White) and “Wo die Weser einen großen Bogen macht” (Where the Weser makes the big turn). The trio had the background support of their team mates as well as the Weser stadium announcer Arndt Zeigler.
Diego and Per Mertesacker were unfortunately unable to join their colleagues on stage and present their singing skills as the German international was confined to his bed with a cold and the young Brazilian away in Dusseldorf taking part in a charity match for UNICEF.
The team were then joined in their niche of the massive tent after their performance by the players from the reserve side to enjoy the remainder of the evening. Some of the players even had the chance to enjoy some of the rides dotted throughout the fair. Not Christian Schulz though, who remained in the Bavarian Tent to enjoy the atmosphere: “ I used to go on everything that was set up here but I’ve come to an age now that I don’t need to do it ally anymore”, explained the 23 year old “Now I prefer the some of the other attractions to the ‘Wild Water Rides’.
Schulle was not at all disturbed by the encore of the Werder fan favourites of the fans intentions with the ‘Lederhosen’ belonging to the Bavarians. The demands upon the team are now problem for the young German international: “On Saturday the two top teams in Germany faced each other and we dominated Bayern –at least in the first half. We have really shown our best form over the last few weeks but we now must work on conserving our performances. If we can maintain that we can win the title.” Only the Bayern fans in the tent will have been upset by the comments.
