Two days prior to Germany's eagarly awaited quarter final clash with Argentina, Miroslav Klose made a public appearance. The Werder striker, who is currently with four goals leading the World Cup scorer list, is confident that the German selection will make the semi-finals. Klose said cheekily: "We are nor nervous. We know that Argentina are a top team. Before the tournament they were favourites to win the final but now it's their misfortune that they have to face us on Friday. We want to win and that's how we are going to approach the game." The Werder man is well aware of the status of Friday's game: "It's beginning to tingle for one or two of the lads, we know how important it is to win the game on Friday - that's theme number one for us."

Miroslav Klose is especially excited about the game as it has been a long time since he faced the South Americans: "I didn't play in either of the last two games we had against Argentina. I could only watch on television and for that reason I'm particularly looking forward to it", explained Klose who played his only game against Argentina on 17.04.2002, when he played alongside current team manager Oliver Bierhoff in the starting eleven. The game finished in defeat on that day in Stuttgart thanks to a single goal by current 'Gaucho's' captain Juan Pablo Sorin.

Miroslav Klose is most impressed by the attacking force that the South Americans possess: "They have exceptional strikers. Saviola and Crespo are lightening quick. Saviola is especially confident on the ball and Crespo is always good for a goal - you could compare him with Ruud van Nistelrooy. You don't see him for 90 minutes and then he scores the decisive goal."

The Werder striker is less convinced by the defensive department though: "I'm not worried about them at all. I know them, but in the form I'm in at the moment, I don't need to hide from them at all."

The Bremen front man see's his stunning form as the result of his own planning: "Those who know me know that I always want to improve myself. In the last two years I've made a noticeable step forwards. That was my goal and I've been able to achieve that. I had a plan before the tournament as to what I want to achieve and at the moment I'm headed in the right direction. Those who know me know that I'm determined and that I always want the absolute maximum. I intend to show that on Friday too."
