During a German national team press conference in Berlin, team captain Michael Ballack found some words of praise for the German strikers in the 23 man squad. The new Chelsea signing showed himself to be especially impressed by Werder front man Miroslav Klose. "We are really happy to have a player on such a high international level in the side. He had a fantastic season and is rightly 'Player of the Season'", exclaimed Ballack.
Torsten Frings was also quick to agree with is captain on the importance of his club mate to the national team: "Miro is just in really good form at the moment, he's our best striker", explained the 29 year old who then warned: "You shouldn't expect too much from him though, he'll have some tough opposition during the World Cup." In Frings opinion, many goals for Klose will be proof of just how good the team actually is: "Without the team behind him he wouldn't score too many goals but without him we wouldn't get as many points."
