Kicker sport magazine put together the statistics of the first half of every game of the past season. Werder came out on top with 63 points, three points ahead of their arch rivals from Hamburg.
The 90 minute champions Bayern Munich would only have managed a mere 48 points which would have put them back in fifth spot with a UEFA Cup place behind Bayer Leverkusen (51) and Eintracht Frankfurt (49). Inter Toto cup participants Hertha BSC Berlin would have been in danger of relegation with VfB Stuttgart on 33 points rock bottom and doomed to second division football along with FC Cologne (36) and Duisburg (35) who didn't survive the 90 inute table either.
Werder Bremen secured their second place in the second 45 minutes too.
