Werder Bremen's Miroslav Klose has been voted the best out-field player of the 2005/2006 season. The leagues 233 players voted the leagues top goalscorer as the player of the season with 46,8% of the casts in his favour (109 of the participants). Werder's Tim Borowski was also voted into the top five of the season. With 6,5% (15) of the votes the midfielder made fourth place. Second was Hamburg SV's Raphael van der Vaart with 9,9% (23) followed by Leverkusen's Dimitar Berbatov (7,7% - 18) with fifth place going to Yildiray Bastürk. The Hertha BSC Berlin man collected 5,6% (13) of the electoral. Last season's winner from Hertha, Marcelinho, failed to make the elite group this time around.
For Miroslav Klose it's the second award in just a couple of days. Last week, with a phenomenal 71,91% of the vote, Klose was voted player of the month for May - an honour which he had alreayd recieved in October 2005. Last season both Tim Borowski (November 2005) and Johan Micoud (December 2005) also picked up player of the month awards for Werder.
