On the 22.03.2006, Germay will play a further friendly international in preparation for the World Cup this summer. This time the host nation will face the USA at the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in Dortmund. Once again the coach has opted for support from Werder Bremen's squad with Miroslav Klose, Patrick Owomoyela, Tim Borowski and Torsten Frings all nominated by Jürgen Klinsmann.

For Torsten Frings, participation against the USA would mean him winning his 50th international cap. The 29 year old made his debut for Germany on 27.02.2001 in Paris in a friendly against France. In his previous 49 international games the midfielder has scored six goals - Germany have never lost a game in which Frings scored.

A new face in the German selection is ex-Werder man Manuel Friedrich: "We've watched Manuel quite a few times so far this season and have spoken with his coach Jürgen Klopp. His style of play suits our philosophy, his particular strengths in his tackling and positioning play", commented Klinsmann on the 26 year olds nomination. Another player selected by Klinsmann for the first time is Sebastian Kehl. The 26 year old Dortmunder played his last game in the German shirt back on 02.06.2004 when Germany beat Switzerland 2:0 under the charge of Rudi Völler.

The game will be shown live on Wednesday, 22.03.2006 at 8:30pm on German national channel ZDF. It is the last planned game before the squads for the World Cup must be announced on 15.05.2006.
