Recognition for the work being done at Werder. UEFA have invited the Green-Whites to take part in a brainstorming session at their European headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Both Chairman of the Board Jürgen L. Born and team manager Klaus Allofs with join the discussions on Monday, 23.01.2006.
The main focus of the round table talks will be to swap opinions concerning the current situation and perspectives for European club football. UEFA have invited the heavy weights of European football to partake in this event. Aside from Bremen their will be representatives from FC Chelsea, FC Liverpool, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, AS Monaco, AC Madrid, Juventus Turin and Real Madrid.
Jürgen L. Born commented on the invitation: "We are happy to be considered a part of this group of clubs and see it as recognition of the continuity of our work here." Klaus Allofs added: "The invitation mirrors the esteem in which Werder Bremen are held throughout Europe."
