Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf is sweating as to the availability of Patrick Owomoyela for the upcoming DFB-Cup clash with Hanover 96. The German international was unable to train with his colleagues on Tuesday afternoon. The 26 year old was suffering from a thigh muscle injutry and could only take part in some light jogging. He will however travel to Hanover with the rest of the team. "We'll make the decision as to whether or not he can take part until shortly before the game", commented Schaaf who will definately have to make do without the services of his other full back Christian Schulz (calf injury).
Miroslav Klose made very clear that it is a highly motivated side that will travel to the Lower Saxon capital: "We know that it's the winter break after that so we'll mobilise all the power we have available. It'll be a different game to the one two months ago, we want to win this one within the 90 minutes."
The following 18 players have been nominated for the squad: Reinke, Vander, Fahrenhorst, Andreasen, Pasanen, Owomoyela, Naldo, Baumann, Micoud, Vranjes, Frings, Lagerblom, Jensen, Valdez, Klasnic, Klose, Hunt, Polenz.
