The K&K duo are back in action, at least on the trainings pitch. Ivan Klasnic returned to full team training for the first time on Monday after a five week break following an appendix operation. "That was quite o.k, it went well", beamed the Croatian international who is still hoping to make the squad for the Champions League tie against Panathinaikos Athens. "If I could at least sit on the bench I'd be happy, then the trainer could use me if he needs to", was Klasnic's view of his Champions League perspectives.
The involvement of Miroslav Klose is still questionable. The German international trained again with a mask on Monday but was wary of his particpation on Wednesday: "In my current condition I wouldn't play, I have to be honest, the injury occured only two weeks ago - it would not make sense." Klose didn't completely count himself out of the first eleven though: "It's getting better all the time, yesterday I was a bit careful about going into challenges but today it was no problem. I'm happy to have 48 hours time. A lot can happen by then but I'll give my all to play on Wednesday."
Central defender Naldo is also back in training after his shoulder injury: "It's alright now, I've only got a little pain but I can move normally - It looks like I'll be available to the trainer again."
The team captain is of the same opinion having had to pass on Mondays training. The World Cup runner-up took a heavy knock to the left knee against MSV Duisburg at the weekend. "I took a break today which did me well, it's gotten a lot better and I expect to be there against Athens."
