The candidates were put forward by their respective team captains.

Statistics prove the quality of recent performances having picked up 13 scorer points (6 goals and 7 assists) making him the Bundesligas most dangerous midfielder. Alone in Werders last two home ties against Frankfurt and Wolfsburg, Borowski found the net four times.
Tim Borowski has now been named 'Player of the Month' for the second time in 18 months. The New Brandenburg born international collected the prize after his display during the 2004 DFB Cup Final.
