Despite his injured left shin and Germanys extremely poor performance in Saturdays international, Miroslav Klose is looking forward to the tie: "I'm very confident that we can chalk up our first win since the Confed Cup against South Africa. We will present ourselves in a better light." The reason for Klose confidence, Klose sights the realistic self evaluation within the squad: "Us players are always very self critical of our performances. At dinner on Saturday, the game was theme number one at every table. It was a long night during which many important issues were discussed."

The 27 year-old was clear in stating his intention of involving himself more in the German national side and at Werder Bremen: "Us key players must make it very clear that it can't continue like this. We've got to draw the line here and move on, always acting as an example to the young players."
