Bremen is in Champions League fever!! As was to be expected, hundreds of fans converged on the Weser Stadium to snap up the tickets which went on sale to the general public on Thursday morning. As the tickets booths swung open for business at 9am, some fans had already several hours of queuing behind them. Many of the crowd had prepared well for the wait for the highly sought after cards. One woman had set herself up outside the ticket office on Wednesday night with a camping stool and a flask of coffee. Others queued in shifts, one fan from Hamburg relying on the assistance of friends from Bremen to seal his place.
Within less than an hour of opening, more than one thousand packages with tickets for all three games had changed hands. Those responsible at Werder were equally as well prepared as the fans, with all registers at the ticket centre in full swing along with additional booths located around the stadium area in order to reduce the waiting time for the Werder faithful.
Despite the volume of interest, it is still worth visiting the ticket centres: "We still have blocked tickets available West Stand with other 'rest' tickets on hand for places throughout the stadium", explained ticket manager Jörg Fürst on Thursday afternoon.
Tickets are still available at the ticket centre, Franz-Böhmert-Straße 1c, or by telephoning 01805 - 937 337.
