25,000 fans spilled across the newly laid asphalt to set a new record attendance for the Werder 'Day of the Fans'. The integrated 'Werder-Wuseum' (a museum celebrating Werder Bremens proud history) also registered 1,000 visitors, another record. " The enthusiasm is sensational and it is groing from year to year", glowed Klaus Allofs. The general manager was especially delighted to see so many young people and families involved.

The ever increasing atmosphere brewed to almost boiling point when the Werder team took to the stage, the fans ear piercingly greeting each player individually. "If any of our players was lacking a bit of motivation, he's got it now", exclaimed Klaus Allofs, hitting the nail firmly on the head. Jurica Vranjes, who was also introduced to the swelling fan group by 'Arnie' and 'Stolli' commented: "With these fans we can become German champions." There was a particularly warm welcome for the newest member of the Werder family, Brazilian Naldo: "I can already feel their trust and feel very welcome. I want to please these fans and enjoy success with Werder", explained Naldo who had Werders managing director Jürgen L. Born as translator by his side.

Following their introductions, the Werder crew were then available to enjoy in close proximity as the spread themselves out across the grounds in stalls set up by Werders partners to sign countless autographs. The fans were forced to show a great deal of patience, waiting for a long time to catch a glimpse of their favourite, but it was well worth the wait in the eyes of the Werder faithful.
