Werder Bremen hope to continue their upwards trend of recent weeks and at least grab a point in their match at table leaders Borussia Dortmund on Saturday 11 December 2010 at 6:30 p.m. "We have a lot in store for the final two games until the winter break and we have to make sure to catch up and head towards the international spots for next season," said Werder manager Klaus Allofs. "Of course it would be good to begin that in Dortmund."

"They switch from defence to offence very quickly when the opponents lose the ball and quickly play balls into the attack,” said Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf respectfully of his opponents. "Besides that they are very dangerous on set pieces and have an incredible confidence and really play well together. And when you play so successfully then lots of things just work and become automatic. It is difficult to stop them."

It may be difficult but it’s not impossible, especially for a Werder side which gained some confidence from their Champions League victory over Inter Milan. "I believe that you saw against Inter what Werder Bremen has always been known for," said Schaaf. "We passed well and there was a good rhythm. When the ball rolls quickly you can see that a lot of things go right. We saw quite a few situations like that."

Dortmund however know what to expect. “If you let them, they will start playing football immediately. We have work on their strengths and use the resulting space,” said Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp. The Dortmund boss should be able to call upon his top attacker Lucas Barrios as the Paraguayan is close to recovering from his knee injury. But regardless who plays for Dortmund , Schaaf said: “There are a lot of things that you have to watch out for. The best thing is to be dominant yourself and bring yourself to the forefront and always make things tight for the opponents.”
