When Claudio Pizarro scored Tuesday evening after getting subbed in to make it 3-0 against Inter Milan, the Peruvian had a special celebration ready. With his greeting to the reserve bench, Pizarro reflected on a drill from during his rehab from injury. "I had to do it often in the past couple weeks," joked the goal-getter. After a perfect comeback and a recovered thigh muscle tear, the goal celebration was the last "rehab measure" for the striker. "With a 2-0 lead against Inter it was going easy. It wasn’t really difficult for me to get into the game," said Pizarro.
Mikael Silvestre also made his comeback after Inter. The Frenchman entered the match with seven minutes left for Petri Pasanen and right away was looking for more playing time. "I felt really good. Also from a fitness standpoint, I felt good enough that I can help the team against Dortmund," said the defender. Werder’s Brazilian midfielder Wesley meanwhile is not quite ready for a comeback. The Brazilian completed another session on the treadmill on Tuesday after his muscle injury against Schalke. Wesley hopes to return to team training next week. "But it just won’t happen in the next couple days," said Wesley.
Tim Borowski meanwhile was able to return to running training outside. "Boro" ran a few laps with fitness coach Yann-Benjamin Kugel and goalkeeper Christian Vander. "That was an important step for me. If everything continues to go optimally, I could possibly be back against Kaiserslautern," said the midfielder.
