There may have been 17 players on the training grounds Friday but not all of them belonged to Werder’s game roster for the 15th game day on Saturday 4 December 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Wolfsburg. After his red card against St. Pauli, Hugo Almeida will remain a spectator. That leaves head coach Thomas Schaaf with 14 field players and two goalkeepers for their match in Wolfsburg. Among them is Philipp Bargfrede, who is eligible to play again after his red card against Schalke. Also once again in the Green-Whites’ professional roster are U23 players Dominik Schmidt and Felix Kroos.

U23 teammates Leon-Aderemi Balogun, Felix Wiedwald, Onur Ayik, Lennart Thy and Pascal Testroet however were not nominated for the Wolfsburg game and will retain their game rhythm with Werder’s third division team. And it the Wolfsburg match comes too soon for injured Claudio Pizarro and Mikael Silvestre, who are both expected to return to team training after the 15th game day. The Green-Whites were already prepared for their departure after the final training as the Werder troops made their way on the highway at 4 p.m. towards Wolfsburg. The goal is clearly to bring back three points from VW Arena.

These 16 players are on the roster for the Wolfsburg game: Wiese, Mielitz – Pasanen, Fritz, Mertesacker, Prödl, Schmidt, Frings, Bargfrede, Jensen, Marin, Hunt, Husejinovic, Kroos, Arnautovic, Wagner.
